Congratulations, you made it to the roof! Monkey On The Roof is Marc Bedia’s project, an enthusiastic producer who pays close attention to details and is committed to excellence. Based in Barcelona, this production service company aims to display -and put to work- a great deal of experience, combined with a set of values and principles that guide its core business.
Marc, the company’s heartbeat, brings extensive knowledge and a unique perspective to navigating challenges in an ever-evolving professional landscape. Along these years, one belief has accompanied him: “you are only as good as your crew”. Having that in mind, he created Monkey On the Roof as a detailed-oriented production service company; making it more personal and relevant not only for the clients, but also for the crew; your film family.
Details. Because that is Marc’s middle name. His exceptional memory and organizational skills make him the kind of producer that ensures that every aspect of a project is managed and taken care of. Marc had an early start: he produced his first half-length film My Piedajuk during his undergraduate studies at the College of Santa Fe, New México (USA). After graduating, he established himself in Mexico City where he learned the grand-scale method of filmmaking and gained experience at all levels of production from high structured feature films to independent movies and commercials. During his time in México, he worked on distinguished feature films that include Perdita Durango, La Ley de Herodes and Y tú mamá también, among others.
In 2003, Marc returned to his hometown of Barcelona, joining The Lift Barcelona. Swiftly stepping into the role of executive producer, he specialized in production services, collaborating with some of the most prominent producers globally. Throughout his career, Marc’s involvement in various projects has not only fueled his professional growth but has also been a source of creativity. A noteworthy project involved a collaborative effort with the globally acclaimed director, Floria Sigismondi, for the creation of a Samsung Curve commercial. He was Executive Producer in charge of the production service on the now iconic ad campaign Epic Split for Volvo featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Afterwards, he created The Rink, where he was at the helm of the company while producing projects like Ikea’s celebrated ‘What If” campaign, directed by Maceo Frost, and a mini road movie ‘Volvo Open Road’ in the Spaghetti Western world capital, Almería.
This latest venture provided Marc with new experiences and ignited the spark that soon after would become Monkey On the Roof. Fatherhood was also a major milestone which led to a better understanding of the balance between work and family. In essence, Monkey On the Roof stands as the summary Marc’s extensive involvement in numerous projects and roles, and a firm commitment to a set of core values.
Just hop on and meet us on the roof!
